There’s been no Chamber of Commerce in East Bloomfield for several years. But the Town’s recently revised 10-year Comprehensive Plan calls for promoting the development of new homes, new businesses, and new jobs.
Economic growth is vital to holding down local tax rates. This is important: we want opportunities for our young people to stick around; we don’t want our senior citizens to have to move away; and we compete every day with attractive neighboring towns like Canandaigua, Farmington, and Victor for homes, businesses, and jobs.
Enter Grow Bloomfield—a citizen-led, pro-development group. Our non-partisan group (a direct outgrowth of the Comprehensive Plan) started with a dozen members who meet at 4pm every 3rd Wednesday at Turnbull Restoration on 5 & 20. Town residents are invited. You are invited. Just show up. Annual dues are $20.
Our mission is to be a Chamber of Growth. We communicate and partner with all East Bloomfield stakeholders—citizens, business owners, the school, elected officials, real estate brokers, developers, business re-locators, and the like. Our vision is to be active, pragmatic, helpful, and strategic in our work.
This is our first year. Despite the pandemic, we formed up, chose a name, elected officers, established working committees, developed this website and social media outreach. We have also already offered strategic positions on key subjects like grant spending, water infrastructure, community branding, and potential new neighborhoods.
Give us a look. Come to a meeting (be home by dinner). For more information, call Grow Bloomfield president Paul Hudson at 585-330-0889 or email him at pbarthud@outlook.com.
